“The challenge for this year’s D&AD White Pencil competition was to aid Peace One Day in raising awareness for Peace Day, September 21st. This led us to create Recipeace, a movement that brings people in conflict together over food. Each campaign element was designed to help people settle their differences over a shared meal. It started at the dinner table with the Recipeace olive oil bottle. The bottles, along with all other campaign design elements, were used in hundreds of participating restaurants and several donated outdoor media spaces around Chicago. From there Recipeace grew, ultimately reaching millions across the globe, one meal at a time. Recipeace went on to win the inaugural White Pencil Award, over all other worldwide Peace Day submissions, and has since developed a relationship with Peace One Day in hopes of growing the campaign for years to come.”
