"'Pakistan: Where the Jihad Lives Now.' Pakistan continues to dissolve into a violent, simmering internal conflict that pits extreme militant elements in the country against the corrupt political structure ruled by Pervez Musharraf. The storming of the Red Mosque in Islamabad and the recent assassination of Benazir Bhutto symbolize—in real terms—a state bordering on the edge of a nervous breakdown.
