Bob Barrie

Barrie D’Rozario Murphy

Bob Barrie is partner and executive creative director of Barrie D’Rozario Murphy advertising agency in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 2007, Barrie founded the agency with partners Stuart D’Rozario, who was a CD at Fallon, and David Murphy, then president of Saatchi & Saatchi/LA. Prior to BD’M, Barrie joined Fallon in 1983. There he was an art director and partner. Barrie has won awards from Communication Arts, Cannes, Clio, The New York Art Director’s Club and The One Show. Barrie has given talks on the topic of advertising in locations as diverse as Stockholm, Singapore and Milwaukee. He has also judged dozens of advertising shows, from Hong Kong to Cannes.

Nanette Biers

Freelance

Nanette Biers has been a professional freelance illustrator for the past 29 years, after graduating with honors from UC Berkeley with a degree in fine art. Her work has been selected for inclusion in several annual exhibitions of the New York Society of Illustrators and Communication Arts, and her career was profiled in the January/February 2001 issue of CA. Clients have included Sony, IBM, Dupont, American Express, Bristol Myers, John Deere Credit, Northwest Airlines, APL Shipping Lines and Celestial Seasonings. Devin Pedzwater

Design Director

SPIN magazine

Devin Pedzwater has been instrumental in honing the look of four of the most iconic magazines in contemporary history: SPIN, Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated and Condé Nast Traveler. As the design director of New York-based SPIN, he oversees the design, photography, illustration and typography of the magazine and all of the company’s digital properties. Pedzwater received a BA from The Pennsylvania State University, where he was recently honored with a Distinguished Alumni award. His work has been recognized by such groups as American Illustration, American Photography, Communication Arts, Print and the Society of Publication Designers.

Karen Powers

Art Director/Designer

Kids Can Press

Karen Powers has been designing books for young people for fifteen years at Kids Can Press, a children’s book publisher in Toronto, Canada. She graduated with a BFA from York University where she concentrated on printmaking and painting and pursued further studies in design at the Art Institute in Chicago and the University of Illinois. She has art directed and designed many award-winning books, including the critically acclaimed Visions In Poetry series and the popular Scaredy Squirrel series and has been the recipient of numerous Alcuin Awards for Excellence in Book Design in Canada.

Chris Rovillo

President/Creative Director

Rovillo+Reitmayer

Chris Rovillo is president, creative director of Dallas, Texas-based Rovillo+Reitmayer. Rovillo graduated from North Texas State University in 1973 and began his career in the Neiman Marcus advertising department as an art director. He joined Richards, Brock, Miller, Mitchell and Associates as a graphic designer upon formation of the firm in 1978 and became a principal in 1983. In 1990 he left to form his own company, Rovillo Design Associates. In 2004, the company evolved to Rovillo+Reitmayer with the promotion of Samantha Reitmayer as principal and creative director. Rovillo’s work has been recognized by major national and international creative organizations.
