The Battery identity

Identity, Entertainment

The Battery is an exclusive new members-only club in San Francisco with interior design by Ken Fulk. San Francisco-based branding firm MM created a comprehensive brand for the club that stretches beyond identity into a wide range of collateral for the hotel, club and restaurant: member invitations, cards and kits; staff uniforms; umbrellas; wayfinding signage; luggage tags; custom playing cards and restaurant materials. MM, headed by Tyler Moore and Peter Markatos, also directed all photography and wrote a handbook called The Battery Customs and a newspaper dubbed the Musto Times. “A pleasure and a challenge of this brand was designing for so many different mediums: wood, glass, paper, leather, textile, steel and stone,” says Markatos. “We are now working on the forthcoming members’ interactive experience, which will complete the analog/digital circle—something that we love to do."
