The California Academy of Sciences ad campaign
Out-of-Home Ads, Education
The only destination in the world with an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural history museum and a world-class scientific research institution all under one roof, launched a new and innovative branding campaign by local advertising agency Heat. Working with the San Francisco MTA, the Department of Public Works and Clear Channel Outdoor, twelve bus shelters, in neighborhoods throughout the city, were wrapped with colorful images capturing “where life comes to life” under the sea, in outer space and on land. The ads also highlight the internationally-acclaimed architectural design of the new facility, including its expansive green roof, planted with native California vegetation. Television, print, radio, pole banners and 3-D billboards also convey the academy’s commitment to science and championing environmental education and sustainable living goals.
