Conn-X "The Magician" TV spot
TV/Radio Commercials, Consumer
Director Scott Corbett was tapped by Leo Burnett/Athens to direct this 60-second TV and cinema spot for Greek IPTV service provider Conn-X. Set in the desolate Aegean shipyards, the cinematic spot tells the story of a failed magician whose tricks always result in boxes of Conn-X routers. Corbett was inspired by the mood and aesthetic of both 1960s Spaghetti Westerns and the surrealist filmmaking of director Federico Fellini, in his 1973 movie Amarcord. Originally, the look of The Magician was intended to play out as a traditional 30-second comedic spot but Corbett and Identity executive producer Joe Masi read the script and knew there was something richer that could be drawn.
