Cornelia and Co identity

Identity, Consumer

This old-world inspired butcher shop, bakery and wine store in Barcelona called on designer Oriol Gil to build a complete identity—from the logotype and takeaway packaging systems to the market signage and website. Cornelia and Co sought to revive the European grocery shop of the interwar period, so Gil researched graphics of the '20s and '30s for inspiration. "The idea was to create a 'controlled graphic chaos' characteristic of these old groceries, where different brands lived in harmony down the same typographic code," said Gil. "All graphic materials are printed only in black ink and white serigraphy, after doing many printing tests, over raw papers and card boards. Only a few pieces, like coasters, stickers or resistant bags, were printed on fine papers."
