Creatures of Light at the Chicago Field Museum

Out-of-Home Ads, Consumer

This beautiful and mysterious print and outdoor campaign by DDB Chicago launched the Creatures Of Light exhibition at Chicago's Field Museum. The three ads replace illuminating objects with bioluminescent creatures to create new power sources: 'Mushroom' replaces a street lamp with a huge glowing mushroom; 'Angler Fish' uses the deep-sea fish's glowing antenna in a lighthouse to cast a light beam out to sea; and 'Headlight fish' shows a young boy reading under his duvet using the glowing light from a fish, rather than a torch. Award-winning artist Ricardo Salamanca, with his stunning combination of photography and illustration, gives the campaign intrigue, atmosphere, and real 'stop and stare' quality.
