"A drove of bullock" and "A filth of starlings" books

Publications, Consumer

Ramsgate, United Kingdom-based graphic design and book publishing team, PatrickGeorge, was looking to fill a gap in the children’s book market. A group of animal names chalked up on a blackboard in a wildlife center gave rise to two books of interesting and quirky animal collective nouns: A filth of starlings: A group of bird and aquatic animal group names and A drove of bullocks: A compilation of animal group names, in which the pictures do the talking. With an emphasis on accessibility and delivering quality design without pretension, the books are fun and quirky and without pretension while stimulating creative thinking. The illustrations use bold, punchy shapes and colors and are powerful to the eye and the mind. Both books have generated, and are still generating, interest and enthusiasm in schools, art galleries, museums and bookstores and sales reflect this.
