Mon Choco identity Exhibit

Mon Choco identity

Futura's illustrated packaging honors the Ivory Coast's deep traditions of harvesting cocoa.

When Dana Mroueh decided to refresh her chocolate brand Mon Choco, she turned to Mexico City-based branding firm Futura. Her vision? To highlight the locally crafted ingredients and processes with which every bar of Mon Choco chocolate is created. Although unusual for a luxury product based in the Ivory Coast, Mroueh—whose family has been working with cocoa for generations—knew that Mon Choco was ready for a new look.

Eager to create a visual identity for a kindred brand, Futura wanted to honor Mon Choco’s like-minded values: reverence for the land, handmade work, high-quality ingredients, and the pursuit of perfection through every little detail. So Futura created an illustration that tells a story: one about the people of the Ivory Coast and the way they harvest the land’s cocoa—a story of deep respect for their traditions of making delicious chocolate. The illustration added visual texture to all the new packaging, and other luxurious branding details—like gold foil wrappers—represented the products’ high quality. Mon Choco’s new visual identity was born.
