With a flexible design, Japan-based firm Latona Marketing Inc. transforms Patisserie Perle’s cake packaging into keyboards of any size.

Piano keys and packaging design harmonize perfectly in Patisserie Perle’s new cake packaging, designed by Japan-based firm Latona Marketing Inc. By utilizing all six sides of a box containing an individually wrapped financier cake, Latona conceived one simple and inexpensive design that could flexibly recreate any size keyboard, from a small keyboard of 13 keys (8 cake boxes) to a large 88-key keyboard (52 cake boxes). This design was inspired by the idea that society, just like the keys of a piano, can unify its unique creeds and sounds in the pursuit of a universal desire for peace and equality—or simply making friends, family and coworkers happy by gifting them a beautiful box of cakes.
