As a Christian university, Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) grappled with preconceived notions of Christian conservatism and rigid intolerance of diverse thinking. San Diego-based Miriello Grafico’s brand redefinition expresses the true character of the institution—one of acceptance, encouragement and forward-thinking, in learning and in life. In both the positioning work and resulting tagline, “Forward,” it’s a simple line visual used as a metaphor for a student’s path-of-life. The brand invites students, faculty and alumni to personally shape their school experiences and the future content of PLNU’s brand story.
