This online charitable venture, founded in November 2008, provides a way for people to directly help local families on-the-edge by harnessing the power of the Internet to raise multiple, small donations. SmallCanBeBig.org has helped over 100 families and raised in excess of $100,000. New York City-based illustrator, Jonathan Bartlett, donated his time and talent to to create an 18 x 24 print poster to be offered for sale. Proceeds are, as ever, received with the belief that every small contribution works toward creating something big: helping a family overcome the threat of homelessness. The poster, A Joyful Gathering depicts bees in a heart shape surrounding a flower with a caption that reads “Small can be big.” The poster, available only on the site, sells for $35 and is available in a limited-edition.
