The Treehugger Series Desk Reference Guides
Publications, Self-Promotion
This three-book series promotes Paragraphics Fine Printing and New Leaf Paper—two FCS Certified leaders in environmental responsibility. Setting aside expected imagery in favor of bizarre and eye-catching themes, the project, the brainchild of San Francisco-based Rubber Design, was an exercise in standing out in a sea of green marketing. Freakishly Printable is a paper guide that shows how even the most environmentally responsible papers are, well, freakishly printable; Bizarre Incidents of the Paranormal dispels the myths of UV printing and VOCs through UFO sightings, reverse-engineering and conspiracy theories; and, finally, Kangaroo Farts provides tongue-in-cheek examples of the many overused images of green.
Jacquie Van Keuren/Will Yarbrough, creative directors;
Ian Gordon, designer;
Simon Oxley (Kangaroo Farts), illustrator.
