Spoken word artists honor the female athletes featured in Droga5’s suite of films.
When you see Harlem Run crew founder Alison Désir besting long distances with unwavering endurance, professional stuntwoman Jessie Graff defying gravity with an aerial cartwheel, or taekwondo champion and actress Zoe Zhang (Zhang Lanxin) delivering rapid-fire high kicks, no words are needed. Their athletic prowess speaks for itself. To celebrate female athletes who rise above gender comparisons, Under Armour launched a campaign featuring Désir, Graff and Zhang, as well as sprinter Natasha Hastings, alpine skier Lindsey Vonn and principal ballerina Misty Copeland. New York creative agency Droga5 worked with director Georgia Hudson of London, United Kingdom–based production company Agile Films to bring the suite of films, titled Unlike Any, to life. Hudson captured each subject’s athleticism from every angle, paying homage to the movements that have driven these women’s incredible achievements. Poetry crafted by spoken word artists gave voice to each athlete’s story and ability.
