Long the subject of folklore, ginger is said to have mystical powers that bring harmony to life and love (in fact, in many parts of the world, it’s known to be an ingredient in love potions). Along with orange, lemon, cayenne and red pepper extracts, it’s the natural ginger flavoring that gives Yazi its sensual and slightly spicy taste. But, it was Portland, Oregon-based Leopold Ketel & Partners that created the elegant perfume bottle shape, for this unique spirit, that so beautifully captures the essence of romance. Created and distributed by Hood River Distillers, the premium vodka is arriving in select bars and liquor stores with the women’s market in mind—a 750ml bottle will retail for about $30.
