Graffiti Watch print campaign

Out-of-Home Ads, Public Service

Graffiti vandalism has reached new heights in San Francisco (last year, the Department of Public Works received nearly 20,000 complaints). So, when the mayor announced in July that half-a-million dollars was being earmarked for a Graffiti Abatement Program, San Francisco-based agency, BBDO West created this Anti-Graffiti ad campaign as a gift to the city. The provocative ads get the public’s attention, remind people that ignoring graffiti only makes it spread and encourage people to report it quickly. BBDO West wasn’t the only company to make a contribution to the campaign: Washington Mutual and Clean City donated printing; CBS Outdoor and JC Decaux volunteered ad space, and; the photography was donated by Curtis Myers.
