Duration: Four years. Staff: Myself, and certain people who I always ask for feedback. Education: BFA in illustration (2006), Parsons: The New School for Design. Cultural Influences: Good books, melodramatic movies, quirky characters in my neighborhood, the odd beauty of the human form, cast shadows, things that look old. Environment: I'm set up in a corner of my apartment in Jersey City, in a wonderfully diverse neighborhood. I moved there from Manhattan after graduation. I still consider myself a New Yorker and I go into the City almost every day. Philosophy: A lot of art today is either purely decorative or purely conceptual. I strive for a balance between the idea I'm trying to convey and the work's aesthetic appeal.
