“My wife and I were asked to do an installation for First Night, a New Year’s Eve celebration in downtown Pittsburgh. It needed to be interactive and have ‘resolutions’ as its theme. We constructed a wall 7 feet high by 28 feet wide and covered it with a grid of 2-inch squares of paper—7,056 in all. Printed on each square was a different resolution for the coming year. A person could approach the wall, find a resolution they liked, pull it off and keep it. “Film Kitchen is a monthly screening of work by local video and filmmakers. Occasionally there’s a theme. This one was ‘appliances.’ The posters were silk-screened and the text was printed on stickers which were applied by hand.”
