Duration: Since 2006. Staff: One-woman freelance studio by night, fashion magazine designer by day. Education: BFA in graphic design from the University of Art and Design Helsinki, and a semester at the Rhode Island School of Design in 2007. Cultural Influences: The Principles of Uncertainty by Maira Kalman, Diptyque and Ladurée packaging. Environment: I freelance mostly from my third floor studio apartment in downtown Helsinki. Eighty percent of my illustration process happens there, Photoshopping by my desktop. Ten percent is spent between a Xerox machine and a scanner, transferring photocopied surfaces and cutout shapes on computer. The last ten percent is dedicated to procrastination. Philosophy: “People who don’t have a sense of humor really have serious problems.” —Paul Rand
