Duration: Since 2003, I cut, paste and illustrate under the name of Max-o-matic. Staff: No staff, it's just me. Education: I studied communication and cultural studies...or something like that, because I'm not sure of the exact translation of my studies. Cultural Influences: While listening to The Clash and other punk bands, I fell in love with the fanzine culture and became a true follower of DIY. I did everything by myself and in a year or two became aware of the words ”design,” “layout,” “computer,” “art” and “anti-art” among many others. Fanzine led me to design; design led me to books and magazines. Then I discovered illustration. One thing led to another without thinking too much in where I was really headed. Environment: I work in front of a computer almost ten hours a day. Once in a while I go out to have some fun with my kid, play football or walk around Barcelona. Philosophy: Regarding the aesthetics of my work, I follow one simple rule: complete control of chaos. And when it comes to my work philosophy, I follow (try to) a few other simple rules: have fun, make mistakes and follow your instincts.
