Duration: Three years. Staff: Depends on the job. I hire who is needed to produce each job. I work with between one and four assistants per job, a digital tech, producer and varying crew. Education: Self-taught. I went to school for graphic design, and spent five years doing that before getting into photography. Cultural Influences: Film is a huge source of inspiration. I recently saw Slumdog Milionaire which was largely inspirational to my travel work. I love youth pop culture and modern artists. Boardsports and culture is a favorite and international travel is a huge influence and passion. Environment: I work out of my home office in Santa Monica during the rare times that I am actually in town. I travel all the time because I love it and most of my work is location driven. Philosophy: The photography career is a journey, and will stay that way if you are always striving to make better images and become better at what you do. There is always something to learn and it keeps you on your toes. Shoot what you love, it will show through and you'll eventually be hired for it.
