“Personal piece created because I think people get better as they age. And it would just be icing to be in love, too.”
“This idea came on a very gray day, and I was wishing I had a bright orange umbrella to brighten things up.”
“Illustration for an article about an Easter egg hunt in the big cat preserve. This kitty has hogged up all the eggs.” Mike Simmons, art director; Dallas Observer, client
“Created for a group show in Indianapolis.”
“This piece was commissioned by a friend who wanted to capture her daughter’s personality in a painting. This is how I see Katie.”
“Created for a contest promotion for artist representative Scott Hull Associates. That and I just really like parachutes."
“Personal promotion used on prints and postcards. Later Young & Laramore used this image for a print campaign.” Trevor Williams, art director; Young & Laramore, ad agency; Silver in the City, client
“Illustration for Skirt! magazine cover. The image is based on my sister, Lauren, who likes to wear giant hats.” Caitilin McPhillips, art director; Nikki Hardin, publisher

Environment: I work at home, in a little studio with big windows. My dog Vince is usually hanging out under my painting table. Philosophy: My philosophy is that I’m fortunate to get to do art for a living, and that fortune favors those who bust their butts.
