Duration: I graduated in May, so about six months. Education: BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore in illustration and printmaking. Cultural Influences: Edward Tufte, Norton Juster, Edwin A. Abbott, Ernst Haeckel, Russian Constructivism, Mary Blair, Buckminster Fuller Environment: I spent my childhood on the coast of southern Connecticut amongst ruins of the Revolutionary War and mock parakeets. I love exploring, being uncomfortable, books, clouds and geometry. I spend my free time making objects, playing ukulele, listening to records and entertaining my kitten, Momo. My studio looks more like a science lab, full of beakers, old textbooks and vintage rulers. Philosophy: I am fascinated by the aesthetics of science and the ability of diagrams and figures to succinctly describe observable phenomena. I try to use this same visual language to describe unobservable phenomena, believing in an Occam's Razor of illustration.
