Duration: Have been taking pictures for a long time, but started shooting full-time in New York in January 2009.

Staff: Just me, but I collaborate with some great assistants, hair and makeup, stylists and set people.

Education: Studied visual arts and then commercial photography in my homeland of Australia. But my real education came from assisting amazing photographers such as Mary Ellen Mark, Platon, Craig McDean and Arthur Elgort, when I moved to New York.

Cultural Influences: Having lived in Australia, United Kingdom, Poland and the USA, as well as having traveled extensively throughout Asia and much of the world, I feel lucky to be able to draw from a wide range of cultural influences. My inspiration comes from cinema, music, dance and painting, with my biggest influences being directors such as Krzysztof Kieslowski, Martin Scorsese, Wong Kai Wai and Alejandro González Iñárritu.

Environment: I shoot predominantly on location, as there are more visual elements to utilize. However, I sometimes shoot in the studio and I use light as an extra visual and compositional element.

Philosophy: I love what I do and as a result always give 100 percent. It's important to be true to yourself and your vision; keep your integrity and you will never tire of your craft.
