Meet the Jury

Adrian Belina
Partner and Creative Director
Jam3

Bio
Adrian Belina is one of the three partners, and creative director, at Toronto, Ontario-based Jam3. He brings to the table not only his creative skills, but also a strong knowledge of digital strategy stemming from his advertising and marketing experience and the fact that he’s been involved in the industry since 2800 baud modems were all the rage. Belina is best known at the office for being a virtual catalog of the Web’s best sites past and present. He’s been a respected creative judge at several digital award shows and is a permanent judge for FWA. He’s also spoken at interactive conferences like FITC, Mesh and FlashinTO and every year he speaks to the students at Sheridan College (which he attended) about interactive motion and creativity.

Jared Benson
Executive Creative Director

Bio
Jared Benson, executive creative director at San Francisco, California-based Punchcut is a design visionary in mobile and convergent experiences. With over ten years focused in mobile user experience, he leads a multidisciplinary team of visual, interaction and motion designers in crafting core experiences for the world’s top smartphones, tablets, televisions and device platforms. Benson is active in the design community, speaking regularly at design and technology conferences in North America and abroad. In 2000, Benson founded Typophile, a thriving online community for typography connoisseurs, now in its landmark eleventh year.

Véronique Brossier
Senior Software Engineer
MTVNetworks

Bio
Véronique Brossier is senior software engineer at MTVNetworks in New York and an adjunct professor at ITP/NYU. She writes software for online multiplayer games and applications and recently joined the R&D group to develop prototype applications for emerging technology. She is currently writing a book for O’Reilly (to be released in March 2011) on developing Android applications using Adobe AIR. Brossier holds a master’s from New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program and a C-PAC certificate from New York University’s Computer Science department. As a French native living in New York, she loves playing tennis and visiting a new country every year.

Oscar Llarena
Head Information Architect
GSD&M’s Idea City

Bio
Oscar Llarena is head information architect at GSD&M’s Idea City in Austin, Texas. Llarena not only believes the statement "Technology is an art," he’s made a career out of it. A computer engineer by trade, Llarena honed his technical skills at companies like IBM and Harcourt Publishing. After four years, he found his true creative calling in the ad world at Crispin Porter & Bogusky. Working his way from developer to experience designer, he contributed to campaigns for Volkswagen, American Express and Burger King, crafting award-winning work like Whopper Sacrifice and Whopper Virgins. Llarena continues to let his creative and technical juices mix as he leads the digital charge at GSD&M’s Idea City.

Jill Nussbaum
Executive creative director
R/GA

Bio
Jill Nussbaum is an executive creative director on the Nike account at the New York office of R/GA, where she leads a multi-disciplinary team to develop innovative work. For more than a decade, Nussbaum has focused on creating smart and compelling digital experiences that influence behavior and add value to people’s lives. By working with global brands such as Nike, Nokia and T-Mobile, she’s become fluent at extending product experiences to the digital space and across physical environments. Nussbaum was a key player in designing the Nike+ platform, which Adweek named "Campaign of the Decade." She is on the AIGA/NY Board of Directors and teaches interaction design at School of Visual Arts.
