Keith Butters is chief experience officer and co-founder of The Barbarian Group, headquartered in New York, New York, where he oversees and facilitates the collaboration between the creative, technical and user experience departments. Additionally, he acts as a new business and account management executive for several clients such as Bloomberg Philanthropies, Johnson & Johnson, Nike, Kashi and Samsung. Butters is the man who built Subservient Chicken and has served as the lead architect of nearly every front-end Flash design project. In addition to being a published author on the subject of Flash and a writer for .net magazine, Butters consults on the design and programming of internal applications like Plainview, Screenstagram and Cinder.

Kelly Goto is principal of San Francisco, California-based gotomedia, LLC, a research-driven, people-friendly interface firm creating web, mobile and product solutions for clients including Samsung, Hyundai, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Adobe and Seiko Epson Japan. As an evangelist for design ethnography, she is dedicated to understanding how real people integrate products and services into their daily lives. Her book, Web Redesign 2.0: Workflow That Works, is a standard for user-centered design principles. Goto served as past president of the national board of AIGA Center for Brand Experience. She currently lives in Half Moon Bay with her husband and two daughters and is writing a book on emotional user experience, due out in the fall of 2012.

Michael Potts

Michael Potts is vice president for network and new media design for Atlanta-Georgia-based Turner Sports\CSSU. He leads all user experience and design efforts for the Turner Sports new media properties and television productions. Early in his career, Potts founded the Fine Line Design Group which served fashion and style clients for Miami Beach, Florida-based Ocean Drive magazine, worked as an art director at WestWayne in Atlanta and as co-creative director for Exile on 7th in San Francisco. Retuning to Atlanta, Potts joined newly formed Turner Sports Interactive and, starting with NASCAR.COM, and later adding more sites and responsibilities, Potts has since become creative director over the largest group of sports league websites in the world.

Kim Rees

Kim Rees is co-founder and head of information visualization at Periscopic, a socially conscious information visualization firm based in Portland, Oregon. Rees has a background in software development, technical direction, data design and technical management, and received her BA in computer science from New York University. She has published papers in Parsons Journal for Information Mapping and InfoVIS 2011 Proceedings and has spoken at the O'Reilly Strata Conference, VisWeek, Wolfram Data Summit, WebVisions, AIGA Shift and the Portland Data Visualization Group. Periscopic has been featured in the Museum of Modern Art, recognized on CommArts.com and Adobe Success Stories, and received awards from VAST Challenge and Communication Arts Interactive Annual.

David Wright

David Wright is the lead interactive designer at NPR in Washington, DC, where he designs and builds award-winning digital news platforms and specializes in standards-based front-end development. Over the past decade, Wright's work for news agencies has been recognized by organizations and publications including Communication Arts , Editor and Publisher , The Peabody Awards and AIGA. He's taught classes in web design and platform development as an adjunct professor of Film and Media Arts at American University's School of Communication and volunteers with the Society for News Design, White House News Photographers and the Online News Association.
