Photogravure.com | The Art of Photogravure

Art/Creative, Self-Promotion

Photogravure is a form of printing photographs that gives them the qualities of both higher volume limited-edition production runs and individual fine art prints. Shunted toward commercial extinction by the rise of lithography in the early part of the 20th century, photogravures have become the provenance of collectors and a few practicing artist photographers.

With an audience consisting of collectors, students, artists, and designers interested in this medium, photogravure.com celebrates the beauty and history of the printing process and the important role it's played in the evolution of fine art photography.

• Despite being conceived two years prior, once design and development began, the process from initial architecture concepting, to final development, was about six months.

• The Collection area features approximately 1,500 images each available in three different sizes.

• Currently the site receives approximately 5,000 unique visits per month.
