For the National Park Service's Lincoln Bicentennial this interactive tour replicates the grandiosity of the Lincoln Memorial and the personalities of the park rangers who work there.
Spherical panoramic photography captures every inch of the memorial, creating a completely immersive experience. Virtual visitors can “walk” around the grounds, stopping at any of the vantage points to engage with the memorial as if they were actually there. So the panoramic experience is as immersive as possible, the navigation elements are minimal and a full-screen option lets visitors fill their screen with the memorial walk-through.
The entire experience is downloadable, perfect for educators, and anyone else who wants to “take” a piece of the memorial with them.
• The site has 21 panoramas (Lightspeed Media), 13 video interviews (Video Art Productions) and 20 stills (Joshua Cogan Photography).
• Visitors can stop at 21 different vantage points in the spherical panorama tour to find hidden hotspots or listen to rangers share experiences that relate to it.
• The entire site is driven by XML making it easy to edit, which was key during an extensive Q&A process involving numerous stakeholders.
