Capturing the excitement and experiences in the arts district of Miami, this site by BNMR incorporates large-scale images that take over your screen and offer countless stories of what's happening in Wynwood. The district is famous for its Second Saturdays Art Walk, where thousands of people pour out onto to the streets to admire new murals, see new gallery installations, and enjoy their time with friends.
Serving as a directory, the site lists information for each district member, including their upcoming events and integration with Google Maps API to provide an exact location—providing quick directions and what-to-dos even on mobile devices for visitors on site.
Bringing back some of the brilliance of the Flash days, BNMR decided to flip the typical top bar navigation and instead put it at the footer and build the site around it. The site relies on a proprietary backend management system, Brain Matter, which BNMR makes available only to clients.
Launched during Art Basel Miami, the biggest event in Miami through out the year—and quite possibly the biggest weekend for Art in the United States—the site immediately gave thousands of people a useful guide to all that was happening in Wynwood. Since then, more than 60,000 unique visitors, from the US, Brazil, France, Argentina and Italy, to name a few, have come to site to explore the district's offerings.
