In order to promote itself from a new business perspective, as well as to help recruit new talent from across the country, Shine United specifically designed to showcase its work—in itself a testimony to its agency culture. “It was imperative for us that the site truly be a digital reflection not only of the work we do, but also of who we are—of our collective talents and passion for the business,” says Michael Kriefski, cofounder and creative director of Shine United. “From the work samples we selected to our overly transparent client charter, the entire site has been designed to make sure potential clients and employees alike have a clear idea [of] who we are.”
The site encourages visitors to interact with the content with a simple and flat navigation—one that translates well to mobile platforms. “With more than half of our website traffic coming from mobile devices, we designed a unified navigation that is effective and efficient on any device—without any sacrifice to the overall experience,” Kriefski says. Shine United selected a simple tempting system with minimal back-end architecture for the site, speeding up website load times by avoiding complex server-side script execution and database interactions.
