At the start of each new year, Masterfile, the world’s largest independent stock photo agency, sends a calendar to its clients—in their national language—around the world. Designed in-house, at Masterfile’s European headquarters in Düsseldorf, it’s practical and stylish and contains a year’s worth of the best images from the collection. The minimal, landscape format offers plenty of room for daily appointments and notes as well as a weekly overview on each double page; the binding allows the diary to lie flat on a desk or table. Graphics and related catchwords and phrases emphasize the impact of the images as well as playfully referring clients back to the site and its powerful search capabilities. The Masterfile logo and address are silkscreened on the cover and back; the spine, wrapped in fabric, is the distinctive red of the brand; and, to prevent loose notes from escaping, it’s bound by an elastic band.
