Mother was enlisted by the Sundance Institute to create a new and contemporary identity for the 2015 Festival. The Sundance Film Festival prides itself on both debuting and reflecting the current state of independent film each year. The final identity recalls the existing aesthetic of its founding organization through the spherical sun-like graphic, but defines a new and distinct eclipse language that feels current and limited to the year 2015. The inventive design pays homage to the festival’s commitment to nurturing creative dialogue in the film community, while the color scheme nods to the festival’s energetic and contemporary spirit.
