Creative Suite 3 was the largest product launch in Adobe history and the company wanted packaging that reflected the synergy of the product line and, because of the sheer number of products, a simplified design. The result is packaging with completely overhauled colors, images and icons and smaller, eco-friendly boxes. A new typeface was used for the two-letter product name abbreviations (icons for the applications that function mnemonically) that were developed in parallel with the package design. Since many of the products are associated with certain colors (e.g., red for Flash, blue for Photoshop) the designers began with the product's principal colors and incorporated their complements into the redesign. In addition, the Premium suites are colorful, while the Standard suites have more white space and only hints of the product colors. Despite the color variations, the individual boxes look like they're from the same family.
