"In a flat market with excess inventory, how does a real estate investment company maintain a competitive edge? By differentiating," said designer Scott Coe. "We helped Portus develop the theme, name and design application. The photography theme we proposed is realized by identity materials throughout the entire building design—from walls sculpted from hundreds of antique cameras to door peepholes made from actual camera apertures to a chandelier built from vintage Hollywood film lights by David Kirby Bellamy. The property quickly reached 100% occupancy, at rental rates 52% above comparable neighborhood buildings."
