In a region of the United States notorious for its over-caffeinated population, Tacoma, Washington–based café Bluebeard roasts and produces world-class coffee. Creative agency Partly Sunny developed a bold identity and packaging system for the coffeehouse’s products. The logo features a minimally illustrated man in profile with a hypnotic, swirling beard, creating a character instantly recognizable to customers. Black bags of coffee beans use vibrant, eye-popping colors for the label, highlighting the coffee’s name, qualities and growing region. Partly Sunny’s stylish and minimal designs have helped Bluebeard’s brand become one of the forerunners of the Washington state coffee scene.
