Calgary-based WAX Partnership “borrowed” the concept for this identity from the visual language of the marquee sign lettering that hangs in front of most festival venues, and that was gathering dust in the 80-year-old basement of Calgary’s historic Plaza Theatre. The execution is eclectic, bold and communicates the excitement, immediacy and energy of the ten-day film festival. A series of posters was also designed using the same marquee lettering style used in the identity.
