Bees are responsible for one in every three mouthfuls of food we eat, yet their populations are dwindling at a rapid pace. As an organic brand dependent on bees and invested in their well-being, Cascadian Farm launched the Bee Friendlier movement to rally consumers and help bees thrive. The campaign focused on a single solution with significant potential—planting wildflowers. The “Bee Friendlier Flower Bombing” film was shot in Yolo County, California, an agricultural community dependent on bees. Partnering with several local organic farmers and community members, Cascadian Farm employed a refurbished crop duster—typically used to spread pesticides harmful to bees—to drop thousands of colorful seed balls, amounting to more than one million wildflowers.
