Cinéma du Parc, a small independently run movie theater in Montréal, prides itself on screening the best selection of classic, foreign and director-oriented films. To publicize its midnight screenings, Montréal-based ad agency Les Évadés created a poster series that features masculine, macho characters from such classic films as The Big Lebowski, Blue Velvet and The Thing—but softened them up using traditional portraiture. Taiwanese illustrator Hsiao-Ron Cheng used the perfect blend of realism and gentleness to create the contrast. The result shows Walter Sobchak, Frank Booth and R.J. MacReady in a tender light.
