Long before James Fenimore Cooper wrote the historical novel The Last of the Mohicans, he was just a boy exploring Cooperstown, New York, a town founded by his father, William Cooper. To reflect more than a passing admiration for this local boy–turned–noted author and a deep appreciation for American history, Cooperstown Distillery turned to San Francisco–based design firm Pavement to brand its smooth new whiskey, Cooper’s Classic. While the name pays homage to the author, Pavement also combined gold-embossed lettering with a deep–indigo blue background. The classic design on each individually numbered bottle speaks to fine American craftsmanship.
