Responses by Goods

Background: Dermica is the vegan skincare range for Norway’s largest pharmacy chain Apotek 1, and Goods has helped with the strategy, identity and packaging design for the newly rebranded and restructured range consisting of more than 80 products. The purpose of the project was to align a previous unstructured brand into a holistic brand with different sub-brands for different audiences, like children and dry skin. Also, the environmental footprint had to be reduced. The new packaging features biobased plastics in tubes and bottles with more refillable solutions, which reduces plastic by 80 percent. Transparent plastics have also been chosen whenever possible, as it is the easiest and most valuable plastic after recycling, and it also highlights the natural ingredients of Dermica.

Reasoning: The gradient solution gives opportunities for endless combinations, but also unifies the range across Dermica’s stores, so consumers are always looking for the gradient.

Challenges: Making a visual solution that both unifies and also separates more than 80 products across a vast number of physical packaging solutions.

Favorite details: We introduced sugarcane bioplastics, which made more refill solutions, and used transparent plastics wherever possible—natural uncolored plastics have the highest value and use-cases after recycling.

Visual influences: The view of the sky, and the silky feeling of a gradient that implies a soft change.
