Genius, the National Geographic channel’s biopic miniseries about Albert Einstein, illuminates the man behind the word. To design, edit and animate the show’s main title sequence, the team at Los Angeles–based design studio Shine found inspiration in Einstein’s “thought experiments,” in which he visually imagined theories when attempting to solve or explain different scientific phenomena. Throughout the sequence, three-dimensional textures of particles generate imagery reflecting Einstein’s life and work.
