For more than a decade, the exterior of the Hitchcock Building in Boise, Idaho, featured a mural with scenes from Alfred Hitchcock movies. Local ad agency Oliver Russell persuaded the owner that the outside of the building no longer matched the brand of the establishments inside: an indie music store, a funky espresso/gift shop and a hip nightclub. The owner agreed and put the agency to work designing a new mural that gives a nod to a famous Hitchcock flick—now, silhouetted birds, gnarled trees and geometric circles land on an infusion of red and orange, making the building a one-of-a-kind phenom against the Boise skyline.
