For more than a century, KA-BAR Knives have been integral to overcoming adversity; in 1942, for example, they were issued to American troops fighting in World War II by the United States Marine Corps. To anchor a marketing effort (that includes this mini poster campaign) for the 113-year-old brand, Charleston, South Carolina-based branding agency, RawleMurdy, created a series of Web videos and a new e-commerce site. The video series, created with filmmaker Josh Frankel and hosted on the KA-BAR website, are tales of triumph based on true events and told by animated tattoos in a seamless blend of live action, hand animation and photo-real visual effects.
