Menlo Park, California-based startup LEIA is only one year old, yet it has already revolutionized display technologies that have been used for more than a century. B-reel and Tendril were asked to create a short brand film that would evoke the ethos and possibilities of the technology, and depict it in a true-to-life way. One of the innovative techniques the technology employs is a nano-patterned surface that is capable of diffracting light to a specific viewing direction. By this method, Leia can take 64 individual viewpoints of a scene and create objects made out of light, like a true holographic image. LEIA was selected by CNN in its “5 Glimpses of the Future” list. This brand film gives a peak into what the future holds.
