NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory commissioned illustrators Don and Ryan Clark from design firm Invisible Creature to create three posters for its twelve-poster series, “Visions of the Future.” The posters showcase historic NASA missions that expanded humanity’s knowledge of the universe, evoking mid-century modern aesthetics with bold geometric shapes. The first poster, The Grand Tour, highlights the Voyager mission that toured the solar system’s gas giants; Mars commemorates the Mars Exploration Program that seeks to understand the history of life on Mars; and Enceladus, the final poster created for the series, celebrates one of the novel findings of the Cassini mission, and the role that Enceladus’s ice jets played in creating one of Saturn’s rings.
