Background: We wanted to design a bold, different and aggressive brand. Those who consume Olimpica look for quality products, but at the same time, also look for products that are unique and not commonly sold.
Reasoning: We wanted to find a way to stand out from the crowd and make a product that was both different and disruptive.
Challenges: There were some challenges in creating a distinctive brand that gave full importance to typography design—we wanted to create a brand that was 100 percent typographic. We needed to find a way that broke the typographic rules, but still created a good design.
Favorite details: Although the logo says “OLIMPICA,” at first glance, it almost seems like the logo is in a different language that's not Spanish.
Visual influences: While varying visual elements inspired us, we got a lot of inspiration from heavy metal concerts—and its heroic and triumphant feelings.
Specific demands: We did have some requests from the client to not focus so much on the icon, but rather on the typography to be able to create a recognizable and distinctive brand.
