After earning a visual communication degree in Paris, Melanie Duault enrolled in the International Center of Photography’s intensive one-year program in New York. She quickly discovered that tuition was ten times more expensive in New York than Paris, but felt determined that ICP could boost her career. So she decided to crowdfund her education. The stop motion video “On my way to NYC” shares Duault’s journey from France to the United States to promote her Go Go Go ICP campaign. She produced the video in Brooklyn with a creative team of five. Duault drew all of the scenes, and each was shot overhead with a camera on the ceiling and Duault lying on the floor. She hopes to raise enough money to stay in school and pursue her American dream.
