Coffee consumption is increasing, and Paulig, the leading coffee brand in the Nordics, wanted to offer an entire culture around it. Opening a new space right in the center of Helsinki, Finland—complete with café, coffee roastery and barista institute—would do the trick. But although the space, named Paulig Kulma, perfectly met Paulig’s desire to enable changing content, appeal to younger coffee lovers in a credible way and actively take part in Helsinki’s culture, the brand wondered how to offer so many functions within a limited area without muddling up its concept. The solution came from the Helsinki branch of Bond Creative Agency. By keeping the design language, textures, colors and graphic elements consistent throughout the physical environment, Bond silenced the visual noise and created a complete experience that’s neither bitter nor stale. The studio also designed a visual identity to blend in with the spatial design, whose effect is as fresh as the coffee now being served at Paulig Kulma.
