Award-winning chef Gerard Craft’s fifth restaurant, Porano Pasta, has rocked the restaurant scene in St. Louis, Missouri by offering high-quality and fully customizable pasta dishes to eager foodies. To impart Porano’s fast-casual environment in stores, design agency Atomicdust developed an aesthetic that combines modern and midcentury modern graphics. Wall graphics combine illustrations of Italian buildings with images of St. Louis, or utilize simple textures and shapes to approximate a map of Porano, Italy, the city that gave the restaurant its name. A flexible logotype reinforces the restaurant concept, and varying letter styles with additional vertical strokes or a red dot under the logo’s O reflect Porano’s customizable offerings, while maintaining a sense of consistency to the branding. A website was developed in conjunction with the restaurant’s branding, showcasing both the brand’s graphic elements and food photography.
